Overview
This ticket was produced for an official lottery to raise funds for the Greek community of Tanta, Egypt. It is dated 26 November 1916, and was printed in Tanta by printer O. Mourafetli.
The highly decorative title bears an illustration of a winged woman blowing a trumpet, with what appears to be a cornucopia or horn of plenty - a symbol of abundance from classical antiquity. The background scene depicts the delta environment of Tanta. The three columns of text below feature translations in Greek, French and Arabic.
