Overview
This cap was sold as a souvenir during the Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2011. The Rugby World Cup was a major international sporting event which was hosted by New Zealand and won by New Zealand (the All Blacks).
The design embroidered on the cap is an example of how the RWC represented Maori and Pacific cultures to the world. Kahurangi Falaoa designed the cap as part of the Tohu o Nga Aho collection which was produced to provide authentic souvenirs to fans and tourists during the Cup. He based the design on the concept of mana - the sense of strength and integrity which he tries to instil in the young men he works with as an artist and teacher.
