Overview
This used Copper-T 380A intrauterine device (IUD) was collected by Dame Margaret Sparrow during her career as a Family Planning doctor in Wellington, New Zealand. She collected it partly to assess how it had performed. This particular device was inserted in Guatemala in 1994 and removed in New Zealand in 1996.
The Copper-T, in its latest form, is New Zealand's most commonly used IUD.
