Half length portrait of Tomika Te Mutu, a chief of Ngaiterangi in the middle nineteenth century.He appears middle aged, and has short grey hair and a moko (facial tattoo). He is wearing a cloak adorned with ngore (woolen balls) over a striped shirt. Hi is holding a stick at his knee, the handle of which is the head of a manaia.
