Overview
This programme was created forthe National Christchurch Memorial Service held at Hagley Park on 18 March 2011 to commemorate the devastating Canterbury earthquake of 22 February 2011 in which 185 people lost their lives.
The service was organised by the New Zealand Government in partnership with the Christchurch City Council, Ngai Tahu, the Bishop of Christchurch, the Dean of Christchurch and representatives of other Christchurch churches and faith communities, and was broadcast in its entirety. Many dignatories attended including HRH Prince William and the Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key. Dame Malvina Major and Hayley Westenra were the principal soloists.
