This utillitarian woollen one-piece bathing suit made by well-known New Zealand clothing manufacturer Lane Walker Rudkin. Shoulder straps are adjusted by pulling them through two loops at the back, and tying them in place. The fabric is an unusual diamond-shaped knit.

These togs contrast with more decorative styles from this era that were obviously influenced by fashion.
