Overview
This peg doll, named Miss Stella, was made by 5 year old Tamzin Buck. Tamzin won the prize for 'Overall Winner' in the 'Small Acorns' peg doll competition in 2011. The judge of the competition was fashion designer Trelise Cooper who chose this doll because it is very 'fashion forward'.
It is part of a group of dolls chosen for Te Papa's collection because they reflect the interests of New Zealand children. In general the peg dolls show the influence of a range of contemporary media and events including popular film and television characters, fashion, art, culture, media events, children's stories and imagined characters.
