This Batmobile toy car with Batman and Robin figurines, in original 1966 packaging includes an extra Batman figure, orange plastic rockets that shoot out of the car's rare funnels, 'secret instructions' and a Corgi Club membership form. It is awonderful example of the type of toys created in relation to film and television in the 1960s, many of whichwere availablefor New Zealand children to play with.

'Batman: The Movie', was a 1966 film based on the Batman television series, and the first full-length theatrical adaptation of the DC Comics character of the same name. The film's Batmobile was an adaptation of a futuristic concept car called the Lincoln Futura, first designed in 1955 by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company. They designed and built the car but never put it into production.
