Overview

This t-shirt was designed by Anton Parsons (SCAPE Passing Time artist) for the opening of the 6th SCAPE Christchurch Biennial of Art in Public Space. The design depicts the number sequence '043504092010' which represents the hour, minute, day, month and year of the Canterbury earthquake on 4 September 2010 near the town of Darfield, which first altered the landscape of Christchurch and caused the postponement of SCAPE. The t-shirt was produced only days before the devastating earthquake hit Christchurch on 22 February 2011, causing further postponement of SCAPE.

The 6th SCAPE Christchurch Biennial of Art in Public Space will now proceed later in 2012. Many of the planned artworks will be installed in Christchurch and Auckland to coincide with the Auckland Art Fair, Christchurch Arts Festival and Christchurch's The Body Dance Festival.

The t-shirt is also a fundraiser where sales will support SCAPE Christchurch Biennial's Earthquake Recovery Fund and future SCAPE projects.
