Overview
Depicts a Maori family casually grouped in front of a whare (house) with wooden walls and a raupo roof. The most prominent figure is a smiling man with white beard on the left, whose had is raised in greeting. There are also two younger men, a small gril and a young woman standing around a wooden frame with eels drying at either end, and a second woman sitting at a fire behind them. All are smiling at the photographer. Scrubby hill in background, cooking pots and sleeping dogs in foreground.
