Overview
Donations stick to the coconut-oiled bodies of Tongan dancers in Grey Lynn, Auckland. Five thousand people came to attend a celebratory feast for the dedication of a new church, Vaine Mo‘onia (True Vine), by the King of Tonga.
The occasion was a particularly important one for the Tongan community, which is intensely Christian. In just one day, an astounding $80,000 was raised from the crowd towards completing the new building.
