Overview
These badges were worn by members of the 2nd (South Canterbury) Regiment, which was formed in 1911 from Volunteer infantry units in Ashburton, Timaru, Temuka, and Geraldine.
The Latin motto 'Pro patria' on the larger cap badge means ‘For country’.
The design of these badges was approved by Lt.-General Godley on 8 July 1911.
