Overview
This classic Post Office Savings Bank would be familiar to many New Zealanders. It was issued by the Post Office Savings Bank in the 1960s.
The 'POSB' was a division of the New Zealand Post Office from 1867 until 1987, when it became PostBank.
This savings bank was made to look like a small book. It has two slots for inserting money - a circular hole for rolled notes, and a slot protected by plastic teeth to prevent coins from being removed. It could only be opened by a key at a bank.
