Overview
This mug is an example of the types of popular commemorative items produced to mark the signing of the Peace Treaties which brought and end to the "Great War' (now generally referred to as the First World War).
It is a piece of contemporary evidence for the War formally ending in 1919, rather than is still widely believed, with the Armistices between the Allies and the various 'Central Powers' (Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria) in October- November 1918.
