Topic: Bianchini-Ferier textile swatchbooks
These three textile design swatchbooks were originally part of a reference collection held by the Bianchini-Ferier design studio in France.
Bianchini-Ferier had the foresight to employ professional designers and artists in the design of its textiles. As a result the firm achieved recognition at various international exhibitions for the high quality of design and production. One of its greatest successes was the artist/designer Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) who worked for the company from 1912 to about 1928. At the time of his employment, Dufy had established a reputation as a designer of fabric for renown Parisian couturier, Paul Poiret.
