Overview
This letter of thanks for war service rendered was one of thousands printed and given to soldiers as they returned home from the First World War. It was signed by King George V and has an immediate and personable feel: 'The Queen I wish you God-speed, a safe return to the happiness joy of home life with an early restoration to health. A grateful Mother Country thanks you for faithful services.'
The letter is part of a collection of official and personal papers which document the military service of Leonard Morrison with the First New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
