Toy Train

This toy train is representative of the type of wooden toy popular in New Zealand for many decades. This train was made in the 1970s but similar versions are still being made by crafts people and toy manufacturers.

The blocks, designed to fit in the wagons, give this toy an educational purpose. Blocks are known to promote hand-eye co-ordination in young children. They can also be used for construction and demolition and well as for learning about shapes, colour and patterns.
