The exhibition catalogue Monet and the Impressionists is available from Te Papa Store and Te Papa Store online. This beautifully produced book published by The Art Gallery of New South Wales presents a selection of 27 paintings by Claude Monet; works by his contemporaries, the Impressionists, many of whom shared Monet's sources of inspiration; and paintings by figures of the generation before Monet whom he admired – other French painters and the Japanese artist Utagawa Hiroshige.

With works drawn principally from the world-renowned collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, with additional loans from the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Victoria, the book showcases some of the most famous works by Monet and his contemporaries, such as Jean-François Millet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, and Edgar Degas.
