Overview

This ceramic mixing bowl has a glazed turquoise exterior, and a cream-coloured interior and rim. It was produced by Crown Lynn in the 1950s, and the back is stamped with the distinctive coronet mark.

Thousands of these 'beehive' bowls were produced by Crown Lynn, one of New Zealand's most well-known companies, in the 1950s and 1960s. Decorated with layered tiers, beehive bowls came in a number of colours and patterns, and were considered a kitchen essential in many households.
