Child's painting: 'She puts on new gloves and checks our teeth'

This is group of four art works paintedby first year primary school children after their first visit to a school dental clinic. It depicts a dental nurse farewelling the children after the visit.

The class teacher has added text at the bottom of the picture to help tell the story of the class's visit.

The free School Dental service was a government initiative that was the primary mode of delivery for children's dental health care for most of the 20th century.
